Creating Textures in trueSpace




1.Open tS(of course), go to top view. We are creating the USAF Emblem.
2.Open the Regular Polygon box. To create star set sides to 10. Turn on grid snap. Create circle, make sure on top and bottom are points, not flat. Normalize location.
3.Deactivate Gird Snap. Activate the Point Edit:Vertices tool, select point to the right of the top. Open a new window in Perspective view. Move along objects z-axis, watch top view, when right edge is flat stop, then repeat on the left side.
Your object should look like this:
4.Move the bottom veritce until it looks correct to you. Then do the sides.
Your star should look something like this:
5.Re-Open the Regular Polygon box, this time set sides to 16 or higher. Create a circle slightly larger than the star.
6.Turn on grid. Set sides to 4, create a correct box. Noramlize location, then resize to be a rectangle. it should be wider than the circle. It should be thinner than 1/4th of the circle. Copy, move up on y-axis till the bottom edge touches the top edge of the orginal. Copy, then open object property panel, add -(minus) to y location.
7.Glue all rectangles together, then copy, enlarge on all axis untill it is just a little bit bigger than the orginals.

Now for texturing...

8.The star is white(R255,G255,B255),Flat shadded, no transperency. Circle and large rectangles are blue(R0,G0,B255),flat shadded, no transparency. The small edge rectangles are white(RGB255),flat,non-trans. The middle small rectangle is red(R255,GB0),flat,non-trans.
9.Turn the background black(RGB0). Turn on Anti-Alias.
10.Screen render, then Print Screen. Open Paint Brush, then paste, if it asks to enlarge the bitmap answer yes. Select all, then move the logo to the upper right corner. Select a tool, shrink the bitmap till only the logo is left. Save.
11.Open tS, goto Edit:Image Utilities. Select the logo bitmap as source image. Select Black Alpha Conversion, then Convert image.
12.Open an object, then create a material rectangle, then apply the transparent image, then your done.
